Aclima HotWool is made from terry wool, a blend of 65% merino wool, 20% polyester and 15% polyamide. The blend of these fibers makes the clothing thicker and more durable than pure wool clothing. This means that you can wash these garments in the washing machine at 60°C.
This also means that the lint can accumulate on the surface of the fabric due to the mixture between "stronger and weaker" fibers. The Aclima HotWool is perfect for outdoor activities and outdoor work. The loops on the inside of the HotWool insulate heat and offer excellent breathability.
Aclima developed this product in collaboration with the Norwegian Armed Forces. Terry wool is still used due to its superior durable and insulating properties, even though the products are relatively light.
