The Berghaus Munro II IR in the color "stone grey olive" is a robust day and operational backpack with a volume of 35 liters, which meets the German Armed Forces TL 8305-0278 or TL 8305-0281 regarding the IRR camouflage effect.
In addition to the spacious main compartment and a lid pocket, it features an elasticated drawstring closure on the front for carrying additional lightweight gear or clothing, as well as two ice axe/trekking pole attachments. Two compression straps are sewn onto each side to cinch everything tightly, even when the pack is lightly packed. Despite its small size and simple design, it offers comfortable carrying thanks to an aluminum-reinforced back panel with foam padding, padded shoulder straps, and a hip belt with the proven bergbuckle one-hand quick-release buckle.
The Munro II IR "stone grey olive" is made of CORDURA 560 DTEX, a 560 denier polyamide 6.6 Cordura that meets the stringent requirements of the German Armed Forces TL 8305-0278 standard, including high-end infrared protection (IRR 600 to 850 nm / approx. 12 pt.). All buckles, webbing, and hook-and-loop fasteners also meet the German Armed Forces' requirements regarding IRR camouflage effectiveness.

The Berghaus story began in 1966 when an English mountaineering couple founded the outdoor equipment store LD Mountain Center. Over time, Berghaus designed, tested, and sold its own gear based on the actual needs of mountaineers. Today, the brand is among the very best outdoor equipment manufacturers. Production for the army began during the Falklands War, when the British Army needed a backpack for specific conditions.
