The Combat Application Tourniquet®, or CAT® for short, is a one-hand tying system for congesting or briefly interrupting blood flow in emergency situations, particularly in tactical casualty care. The tourniquet can be applied to all extremities using an individually adjustable strap. The winch system (band with toggle) tensions a freely movable inner band to prevent the flow of arterial blood into the extremity. All you need to do is fix the toggle under a clamping hook. During transport, the CAT®'s Velcro fastener provides additional security.
