KUPILKA means "little cup." It is derived from "kuppi," the Finnish word for cup. It dates back to the time before the First World War when Finnish men and women warmed their hands by drinking from the "kupilka," or small cup, during the harsh Finnish winters. KUPILKA products are made from a biomaterial. This biomaterial consists of a natural fiber composite made from 50% wood fibers and 50% plastic (polypropylene). Compared to plastic, the advantages of the natural fiber composite, besides better heat resistance and longer lifespan, are primarily its robust construction. Unlike wood, the material requires no maintenance. It also does not absorb odors and is moisture-resistant. All KUPILKA products are dishwasher safe. High-quality design combined with new technologies honors nature with environmentally friendly tableware. Kupilka is your best companion in nature.
