Das Leatherman Skeletool RX ist eine Weiterentwicklung des ursprünglichen Skeletools und wurde speziell für Notfallsanitäter, Rettungsteams und Ersthelfer entwickelt. Das RX besitzt im Unterschied zu dem Skeletool CX ein Messer mit Wellenschliff zum Zerschneiden von Kleidern, Gurten oder Seilen und einen Glasbrecher-Bit mit Carbidspitze für Autoscheiben.
