An Opinel knife, or simply Opinel, is a folding knife with a wooden handle, manufactured by the company of the same name in the French Savoy region since the late 19th century. Designed for agricultural work, the knife has undergone only minor changes and refinements in function and form over the years. It is internationally renowned and sold in the millions. Particularly in its country of origin, France, the Opinel is considered a classic of everyday culture.
