With the N°12 Explore model, Opinel offers a multi-purpose knife that is ideal for nature lovers, hunters and survival fans.
The N°12 Explore features a fiberglass-reinforced polyamide handle, ensuring a secure grip, especially when working with wet hands. Inside the handle, the Explore houses several interesting and useful extras: a tick remover, a 110dB signal whistle, and a hook blade with a lanyard loop.
Tick tweezers allow you to grasp the tick without crushing it and remove it completely with a twisting motion. The tweezers have two differently sized openings, depending on the size of the tick.
The signal whistle without a bullet is integrated into the end of the handle. It functions in all weather conditions, with a volume of 110 dB and a range of approximately 300 meters in open areas.
Otherwise, the model offers the features typical of Opinel – a blade made of 12C27 stainless Sandvik steel and the proven Virobloc locking ring, which prevents the blade from opening and closing unintentionally. Due to the tools integrated into the handle, the blade, at 10 cm in length, is slightly shorter than that of the regular N°12 model.

An Opinel knife, or simply Opinel, is a folding knife with a wooden handle, manufactured by the company of the same name in the French Savoy region since the late 19th century. Designed for agricultural work, the knife has undergone only minor changes and refinements in function and form over the years. It is internationally renowned and sold in the millions. Particularly in its country of origin, France, the Opinel is considered a classic of everyday culture.
