Suitable for all users, the GRIGRI belay device with assisted braking is designed to simplify belaying both indoors and outdoors. The assisted braking mechanism, provided by camming lugs, improves belaying comfort when checking out a route and catching a fall. The lever action allows for exceptionally precise control of the braking force during lowering. This compact and lightweight device is designed for use with single ropes ranging from 8.5 to 11 mm in diameter.

• Safety comfort thanks to locking support via camming cams: In the event of a fall or a rest by the climber, the rope becomes taut, the cam rotates and engages the rope to lock it.

User-friendly:

• The engraved markings on the belay device make it easier to insert the rope.
• The same handling steps apply as with all Petzl belay devices: The rope is fed into the device and one hand is always on the brake rope.
• Locking support via clamping cams: allows a large tolerance of the hand position on the brake rope regardless of the angle between the rope facing the climber and the brake rope.
• Compatible with all dynamic single ropes from 8.5 to 11 mm and optimized for diameters from 8.9 to 10.5 mm

Controlling the abseiling maneuver:

• Comfortable handling and easy release of the rope thanks to the ergonomically shaped lever.
• Three times higher lever force transmission for better control of rope movement with small diameters and less force required to operate the lever with large rope diameters.
