The TacMed™ Solutions SOF® Tourniquet is a hemostatic device capable of effectively stopping blood flow in arteries and veins. It presents an effective solution to control life-threatening bleeding.
SOF® tourniquets are characterized by the use of extremely robust materials. The SOF's toggle is precision milled from a single piece of aluminum, eliminating stability issues even under the highest loads. The wide binding band ensures efficient hemostasis and is more comfortable for the patient than narrower bands.
SOF® tourniquets have been proven reliable for more than 20 years, tested by the US Army Institute of Surgical Research and recommended by the CoTCCC.

- The new compression band slides more easily through the closure clip and minimizes pressure loss during prolonged use
- Stable quick release, redesigned and now easier and quicker to handle
- Embroidered indicator indicating that the SOF has been applied at full power. Prevents putting on too easily, prevents errors
- Highly stable aluminum toggle that is non-slip and easy to handle. Made from one piece of aluminum
- The TRAC (Tourniquet Retention Assistance Clip) has been revised and made more stable. It allows the toggle to be temporarily secured when used with one hand
- Tri-ring lock for final securing of the toggle after the SOF has been installed. It can be operated safely with one hand and secures the gag when transporting patients
- Time indicator to document the installation time of the SOF, visible without being part of the tourniquet's securing mechanism
- Made in the USA

Founded in 2003 by Ross Johnson, a Special Operations Forces medic, Ross served as a Green Beret in Afghanistan. The tourniquet he carried was the same one issued on D-Day. Unreliable, it proved ineffective, leading Ross to invent the SOF® Tourniquet.
