The Woolpower Socks Classic 400 is a sock made from approximately two-thirds ultra-fine merino wool, knitted in a circular process without longitudinal seams. The terry cloth material offers excellent insulation and provides warmth even when damp. The sock absorbs moisture and wicks it away from the foot without compromising its insulating properties. The terry cloth material on the foot and cuff makes the sock particularly suitable for higher shoes.
Ullfrotté Original 400 can be used in colder temperatures or when you don't plan on moving around much. In these cases, it's best to wear one of the thinner base layers underneath, such as Woolpower LITE or Ullfrotté 200, which are designed to fit closest to the body. Wearing Woolpower directly against your skin allows you to benefit most from the wool's excellent properties.
Details:
- terry cloth foot
- Shaft made of ribbed knit
- Made in Sweden
Note: The finely woven Woolpower material is very delicate! Pilling, which occurs relatively quickly, is unavoidable but does not affect the functionality.

Woolpower AB was founded in 1969 in Östersund, Sweden, to manufacture nylon tights. In the early 1970s, the company, in collaboration with the Swedish Army, developed the Ullfrotté Original material. The first Ullfrotté garment was produced in 1972.
Today, Woolpower AB focuses entirely on the production of thermal underwear, socks, and warm outerwear. The company employs approximately 50 people, with the entire production process – from yarn to finished product – taking place in Östersund, surrounded by the magnificent Swedish mountains.
Approximately 70% of sales are exports – to about 30 countries worldwide. Customers include athletes and outdoor enthusiasts, military and police organizations in many countries, people who spend a lot of time outdoors for work, and many others who dislike being cold.
